To keep everyone safe in regard to IT security, I will post here top trends and threats that are happening right now.

Ok so to my big surprise, one of the main tools that I am using to manage my pdf files is called nitro. And guess what!

Nitro Software issued an advisory to the Australia Stock Exchange, saying  that they were affected by a “low impact security incident” but that no customer data was impacted.

You know what, with my experience, I can tell you right away that this is impossible to be sure at 100% what was affected. So saying it is a low impact security incident is a good thing to say to the media, but I have doubt about that

Here is what they are saying:

“NITRO ADVISES OF LOW IMPACT SECURITY INCIDENT

* AN ISOLATED SECURITY INCIDENT INVOLVING LIMITED ACCESS TO NITRO DATABASE BY AN UNAUTHORISED THIRD PARTY

* DATABASE DOES NOT CONTAIN USER OR CUSTOMER DOCUMENTS.

* INCIDENT HAS HAD NO MATERIAL IMPACT ON NITRO’S ONGOING OPERATIONS.

* INVESTIGATION INTO INCIDENT REMAINS ONGOING

* NO EVIDENCE CURRENTLY THAT ANY SENSITIVE OR FINANCIAL DATA RELATING TO CUSTOMERS IMPACTED OR IF INFO MISUSED

* DOES NOT ANTICIPATE A MATERIAL FINANCIAL IMPACT TO ARISE FROM INCIDENT

* INCIDENT IS NOT EXPECTED TO IMPACT CO’S PROSPECTUS FORECAST FOR FY2020″

So just to make it clear, if you guys are using nitro pdf as your main tool.  I would advise that you at least change your account password, and probably follow up closely on what will happen with that in the next few weeks.

Let me know if you have any questions about that, I could get more insight if you need it
